Wayne leads the learning, growth, and performance function at SSM Health, a faith-based Mission focused Catholic health system with 12,800+ providers and 40,000 employees. In this role, Wayne’s oversight includes learning and development, employee voice, performance management, career pathing/talent mobility, and succession planning.
Prior to joining SSM Health, Wayne served as the Director, Talent Management and Organizational Development for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the national accrediting body for US-based residency and fellowship programs and through ACGME-I, its international arm, provides accreditation services for 12 other countries. During his tenure he led the redevelopment of the ACGME learning and development initiatives, performance management program, compensation model, and recruiting practices.
Throughout his career, he has led learning and organizational development for Cook County Health, Howard University/Howard University Hospital, and American University. Wayne’s professional career began as a high school educator in Hillsborough County Public Schools and concluded with Prince George’s Public Schools.
Wayne is a lifelong learner. He has earned undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, Secondary Education, and English. Graduate degrees in Special Education: Learning and Behavioral Disorder, Organizational Management, and Human Resource Development. His formal education concluded with an educational doctorate focused on human behavior and psychology.
